Founded over 70 years ago, it is one of the oldest and largest international development agencies in the world, with projects in 49 developing countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas. More than 1,500,000 children are sponsored in the developing world and Plan currently works in more than 8000 communities. Plan is independent and has no religious, political or governmental affiliations and an average of 80% of donations goes directly to support programmes benefiting children and families.
